How to make lavender rosemary candles

Before you’ll be able to make lavender rosemary candles at home, there are a few requirements you’ll need to have in place. I hope you weren’t thinking all you need was just lavender and rosemary.

    Ingredients

    • 4 cups of soy flakes.
    • 20-30 drops of lavender essential oil.
    • 20-30 drops of rosemary essential oil.
    • 3/8 teaspoon of dried rosemary (this is optional though).
    • 3/8 teaspoon of dried lavender (this is also optional).

    Equipment

    • 2 wicks with a metal base.
    • Skewer chopstick or any other utensil you can use to stir the wax in the jar.
    • 2 jars – it could be metallic or glass.
    • 2 Large clothespins.
    • 2 washcloths. The washcloths are not necessary but if you don’t want your wax to shrink after making them then they are great because they prevent the wax from cooling too fast. When the wax cools too fast it results in shrinkage and cracks.Visit The Site: networldking52

    Procedure

    1. Place a pot on your boiler and pour a cup of water into it. Now place a large glass bowl in the pot with the container water (this method is known as the double-boiler method). Once the water starts to boil, reduce the heat and add your soy flakes. Do well to stir the flakes every minute until the flakes reduce to liquid. This entire process should take you around 5 minutes.
    2. Once you have liquefied the soy flakes, turn off the heat and dip the metal ends of your wick into the wax. Position the ends in the center of each candle jar, holding down using a chopstick or skewer until it sets.
    3. Once you have finally set the metal end in the wax, gently straighten it and secure it at the mouth of the jar. This is where the clothespin comes in, it can help you in securing the wick.
    4. Carefully and gently pour the wax into each jar. It’s easier to do this using a measuring cup or bowl designed for pouring liquids. Now add the essential oils (both lavender and rosemary) to the wax. If you are using 20 drops then add 10 drops of essential on each side of the bar and for 30 drops, that’ll be 15 drops each. Now you can add the teaspoon of the dried herbs but this is optional. Use your chopstick or skewer to gently stir the mixture.
    5. After stirring the mixture, wrap the jars with a dry washcloth to prevent the wax from cracking or cooling too fast. If you are not bothered about cracks then you can skip this step.
    6. Allow the candles to stay that way for 24 hours and when it’s fully set, remove the washcloths and clothespins. Now trim the top of the wicks to 1 inch and your lavender rosemary candle is now ready to be used.

Now, that’s how you make a lavender rosemary candle. The entire process is easy to understand and it doesn’t cost you much. You can buy cheap wax melt and most of the other ingredients can be gotten from home or bought if you ran out of them and guess what? They also cheap. Make some lavender rosemary candles and gift some to loved ones and friends this festive period.
