The Filmygod franchise continues with the release of “The Amazing Spiderman”, “The Amazing Spiderman 2” and “The Amazing Spiderman 3” later this year. I’ve always loved Spiderman, so it was exciting to see a brand new adventure starring Tobey Maguire as the web-swinging hero. If you’re unfamiliar with the franchise, here’s a quick review: In the beginning, a genetically enhanced Peter Parker gets bitten by a infected needle during an experiment on spiders. Naturally, Spiderman becomes determined to get rid of his spider powers for good, so he sets about trying to cure himself by means of a serum created by a scientist named Dr. Curt Connor.
As a result, his powers become stronger and he sets out to help the police department find a way to clone himself and give him his new strength. But a powerful criminal named Syndrome attacks, stealing the serum and turning Peter Parker into a B Caucasian Spiderman. With the police force and Spiderman villains now joining forces against each other, a deadly combination is formed that may prove to be the end of the superhero era we’ve been reading about. It looks like we will once again see Spiderman swinging through the streets of New York looking for criminal scum, this time in the form of two new movie franchises: The Filmygod Experience and the Filmygod South. These movies are set to premier later this year!
The Amazing Spiderman (aka: Spiderman) is a super hero drama that revolves around a nerdy science student named Peter Parker, who must deal with bullies on a daily basis and protect the innocent citizens of New York City from the evil villains. Tobey Maguire will play the role of Spidey, while Ben Affleck will play the role of Batman. No doubt we can expect some great Spiderman deleted scenes throughout the latter part of the next year. There’s also no telling if we’ll get to see any footage from the film featuring the infamous deleted scene from the original Hindi movie Hindi cinema “Chak De! Pakistan” starring Akshay Kumar, as well as Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif.
The Filmygod In Absentia is the upcoming sequel to Hindi movie “Chak De! Pakistan”. This movie is the second in the franchise and is said to expand upon the story we left off with in the first film. However, till the time when the DVD releases are over, fans will have to settle for the trailers which can at least give us an idea of what the movie is all about.
The Filmygod In Absentia follows the story of Ravi Bharti, who after being thrown out of a mental institution, takes up the role of a Hindu god and brings peace and tranquility back to the north of India. The movie focuses on the life of Ravi as he tries to bring order to the chaotic region and tackle issues like caste, war, terrorism and crimes. The hero’s daughter Pritika is a key protagonist in this movie and gets to have some great scenes alongside her father. The storyline revolves around how Ravi finds the strength within himself to rise above the traumatic circumstances and become the king he always wanted to be. The success of this movie lies in the fact that it doesn’t attempt to overshadow the past stories we’ve heard about Ravi but rather it strives to add depth to the character and makes him relatable to our modern generation.
If there was one superhero movie that would have made my list it would have to be the Filmygod In Absentia. However, despite it’s success, I feel that the next movie in the series will be a letdown. The concept of gods existing in our universe is very interesting to explore and is a great way to expand the mythology of the superhero genre. The way the movie managed to combine the characters and the god themes worked brilliantly and the visual effects were breath taking. Overall, this movie was a fantastic experience and I recommend you watch it with the rest of your Marvel fans.
