The mower engine turns over easily but won’t start. What can I do to fix it? This is an issue that many people have faced, and it can be frustrating when you put in so much time and effort into fixing your lawn only to have the machine not work. If this sounds like your problem, then don’t worry we are here to help. Grounds maintenance Bedworth provides these steps below for a quick diagnosis of what might be wrong with your mower engine:

Make sure you are using fresh gasoline

You have to give your mower a lot of fresh gasoline to get it going. If there is no gas whatsoever, then you might want to check on that first. You can also try running some water through the tank and adding in some new fuel as well. If this doesn’t work, you should take out all of the old gasoline before trying again.

If there isn’t any compression coming from the engine after several tries

This will be easy enough for someone who knows what they are doing but doesn’t worry. All you need to do here is remove one spark plug wire at a time and put a little oil on each terminal where it connects with the top of the piston (it’s usually pretty obvious). After putting everything back together, try starting the engine again-if it still doesn’t start, then you might need to take it in for a professional diagnosis.

If you have determined that the spark plug is faulty

This is an easy fix and can be done by anyone who knows how to use a wrench. All you need to do is remove the old spark plug, put in the new one, and tighten everything back up again. Make sure that the new spark plug is properly gapped before trying to start your mower engine once more.

    Check the fuel filter

This is an issue that only professionals should try to work on unless you know what you are doing. If your fuel filter looks like it has holes in it, then the chances are good that there is dirt getting into the gasoline and breaking down something important inside your mower engine (which will cause it not to start). To fix this problem, simply take off the old gas cap and replace it with a new one before taking any other steps or take help from kyle’s small engine repair.

    Double-check spark plug wire connections

Sometimes, a spark plug wire might come loose from the top of your piston-but you won’t know it unless you take a good look. This is an easy fix that will only take about five minutes to complete if everything looks okay. If not, then just tighten things up and try again.

Check if the gas tank has enough gas

If you have determined that the spark plug is faulty, then your mower might not be getting enough gas to start. To fix this problem, simply give it a few more shots of fresh gasoline before trying again-if this doesn’t work, then consider adding in some water and new fuel as well until everything looks okay inside the tank (or take it in to a professional for diagnosis).

Make sure there isn’t any dirt or debris in the carburetor intake tube

This part can be hard for some people who aren’t used to taking apart engines-if this sounds like you, consider calling someone else over to help out instead (or at least reading through our article on how to do it successfully). You should also check inside the mower’s air filter before doing anything else with the engine by itself. Try starting your engine once more-if it still doesn’t work, and then it might be time to bring it in for a professional diagnosis. If you want to buy a lawn mower you can check Abunda for financing.

These are just some of the most common issues people face when their mower engines don’t start. If you have tried all of these things and your engine is still not working, then the chances are good that you will need to take it in for a professional diagnosis. Until then, keep trying different things until you find what works. We hope this article was helpful. Happy lawn mowing.
